My immediately preceding telegram.

Japanese having expressed themselves as satisfied with the progress made at this meeting, I took the oportunity of handing to Mr.Aoki for comunication to Mr. Tani a copy of memorandum regarding British desiderata (my telegram No.1618) and suggested that results of various agreements should be recorded in four separate memoranda dealing respectively with police questions, silver, currency and British desiderata, which should form enclosures to semi-official letters exchanged simultaneously either by the Minister for Foreign Affairs or the Vice inister for Foreign Affairs and myself.

Repeated to Shanghai 1292, Tientsin 587.
